Hans Morgenthau

Hans Joachim Morgenthau ( 1904 - 1980 ) was a International Relations theorist, and one of the most influential ones to date. Along with E.H. Carr , heis one the main authors of the realist school - which, among others statements, believes nation-states are themain actors in International Relations, and that the main concern of the study field is security.

His book Politics among Nations literally defined the IR field in 1948 as itheralded the post–World War II paradigm shift in American thinking about diplomacy.
